Warranty

Warranty

Product warranties will vary depending on brand & manufacturer. The warranty of most brands does NOT cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear & tear, or the natural breakdown of colours or materials over extended time and use. Damage that is not covered under warranty can sometimes be repaired for a reasonable rate and a fee will be charged for shipping & handling.

Helly Hansen Products are covered by a 2-year warranty and proof of purchase in our store is required for us to process a warranty claim. Helly Hansen Canada Warranty

Smartwool Products carry a 2-year warranty and you can submit your claims to Smartwool Canada via email at smartwoolwarranty_canada@vfc.com Please include pictures of your items/issues, a picture of your receipt, and your contact information. Smartwool Canada Warranty

The North Face® Warranty effective Feb 1 2026;

The North Face Canada now requires all warranty claims for all North Face products to begin by submitting your claim on their website.

TNF Warranty Page

Customers will need to take pictures of their item, the damaged area, and include the product identifying tag which is generally on the inside of the garment or item (attached with the wash & care instructions).

The North Face customer service team will get back to you with next steps for repair or replacement, which will then require you to possibly send your item off for repair. The new Warranty Policy from The North Face means we’re no longer able to help with warranty claims; all warranty requests now have to be submitted directly through The North Face. (Button above)

The North Face® warranty as listed on their website;

The North Face® products are fully warranted to the original owner against defects in materials and workmanship.

If a product fails due to a manufacturing defect we will either repair the product without charge, replace the product (as long as the same exact item is still available) or credit the product at our discretion. This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, laundering, normal wear and tear or the natural breakdown of colors and materials over extended time and use. We are currently unable to process repairs for items not covered under the terms of our warranty policy.

This warranty gives specific legal rights; it does not affect any other statutory rights you may have as a consumer and which may vary from country to country.

The North Face® Footwear is covered by a one-year limited warranty following the date of purchase (proof of purchase necessary) that protects the original owner against manufacturing defects in workmanship and materials. Only original materials and workmanship are covered by this policy. Reasonable wear and tear is not included.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

All of TNF branded products (except footwear and products from our The North Face Renewed series) are covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the practical and reasonably expected lifetime of the product. If your product covered by this warranty fails due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair it or replace it without charge, at our discretion. Only original, unaltered and unmodified items and workmanship are covered. This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of colors and materials over extended time and use. Proof of purchase may be required.

The products eligible for the Limited Lifetime Warranty are covered to the original owner, and coverage is nontransferable (except where prohibited by law), for the lifetime of the product. (This does not mean your lifetime, it means the reasonably expected lifetime of your product given normal, expected, and foreseeable uses, excluding misuse and normal wear and tear.) I.e.: Your The North Face® sleeping bag may not last to the ripe old age of 70. (But we have heard from folks whose well-loved and cared for 1973 Superlight sleeping bags are still going strong!)

An authorization number is required for all North Face warranty claims.

What is Not Covered by Warranty;

    • Normal wear and tear. This includes fading of fabric, seam tape deterioration, and overall deterioration of fabric and moving parts that is to be expected with time. We will not repair or replace normal wear and tear.
    • Damage from use or misuse such as rips, tears, burns, holes, pole breakage, and stains.
    • Products that have not been properly cared for or have endured excessive use leading to a shorter product life.
    • Products that have been altered or modified from their original condition when purchased.
    • Products not purchased from The North Face, an The North Face authorized retailer or seller, including unauthorized Internet sites.
    • Unauthorized repairs or alterations to product not completed through The North Face’s Warranty and Repair program at a time when the product would have been covered by our warranty.

What does practical lifetime of the product mean?

The North Face's Limited Lifetime Warranty is intended to cover the practical lifetime of the product, not the user’s lifetime. How your product is used will directly impact its lifetime. We build our gear to last and pride ourselves in equipping consumers with product that will last through many adventures. However, like all good things, our gear’s life eventually comes to an end. If you have enjoyed your gear on many adventures through the years, followed care instructions, and its age is showing, your product may have reached its lifetime and need to be replaced.

All shipping to Warranty must be pre-paid and insured. The North Face® cannot be liable for lost inbound packages. All items must be freshly laundered prior to be sent in for repair/evaluation. If items are not freshly cleaned, they will be returned to the owner for cleaning.

Only items freshly washed/laundered will be accepted
