New signage, same great store…

You may have noticed some changes in our stores over the past few months, or you may have found it to be business-as-usual. We have always been a locally owned & operated store and have enjoyed the opportunity over the past several years to service your outdoor needs as a partner store for The North Face, (hence The North Face Regina/Saskatoon/Winnipeg name.) Even though our partner store designation has now come to an end, you are still able to shop the largest selection of North Face apparel, footwear, equipment, and accessories across the prairies, in our stores.

The exciting news is that we are now able to offer several new brands that we have hand selected to complement our extensive selection of products from The North Face.Indyeva

We love this Canadian brand for it’s thoughtful attention to detail in creating beautiful outdoor clothing and outerwear for women.  The fabrics are super soft, comfortable and stylish.  They are made with technologically advanced materials to ensure they will perform for the outdoor user, and still be fashion forward and comfortable for everyday casual wear. The lineup we’ve chosen for our stores is a collection of tops, bottoms and spring jackets, (including wind jackets and rainwear) that will be appropriate for hiking, adventure and travel.  We have selected a number of pieces that are coordinated to go together very well if looking for a complete outfit, (such as pants, capris, and shorts for bottoms, along with tops, tees and tanks) in fresh spring colours that are on-trend for this season, but classic enough to be staples in your closet for a long time.Black Diamond

Black Diamond is a brand that is all about climbing, skiing, and getting outdoors. They share the same experiences that you do on rock, ice, and snow and its these experiences that push them to make the best possible gear for their worldwide family of climbers and skiers. We have added Black Diamond outerwear to our store because they make some specialty pieces such as Primaloft insulated jackets, and ultra-light wind jackets which are necessary items for outdoor pursuits. Black Diamond trekking poles & gaiters are great accessories to complete your outdoor hiking gear collection, and they also offer an extensive collection of climbing & ski touring items which we can order for our customers.

Helly Hansen

We added Helly Hansen kids’ winter gear to our stores this past winter and the reception was outstanding. We are already known as stocking the largest collection of TNF kids’ gear in Canada, and now we have added another great brand of kids’ performance  winter wear. The Helly Hansen kids’ collection is designed for cold climates, such as our cold prairie winters, and uses Primaloft insulation which is the warmest and lightest synthetic insulation on the market. Many of their winter styles are ski and snowboard specific so we can offer a wider range of gear to get your little rippers on the slopes. Our Regina store has a collection of summer clothing & outerwear arriving for spring 2021, and all three of our stores will be carrying adult outdoor & ski jacket styles in addition to our kids’ collection for Fall 2021.

Salomon

 

We are excited to offer more footwear in our stores this season. Salomon is the best when it comes to lightweight but sturdy hiking/walking/trekking shoes. The XA Pro 3D is probably the most versatile piece of footwear out there and can take you on a trail run in the morning, a walk around town in the afternoon, and still go out for a nice dinner in the evening. We have brought in a few trail run specific shoe options, including the Salomon SpeedCross and others,  as well as Salomon trail run clothing & running packs. All of this, in combination with our new trail run shoe offerings from The North Face, we can outfit you for your trail runs again! And for the little hikers in your family we are also carrying the Junior SpeedCross shoe in youth sizing.

Camp Gear

We have always carried camp gear such as Therm-a-rest mats, MSR stoves, pot sets, & filters to complement our selection of North Face tents, sleeping bags, and packs. For this spring we have expanded that collection to increase the offering of tents by bringing in Eureka & MSR tents for family camping, canoe camping, and lightweight backpacking. We have also added Eureka camp stoves, suitable for family & canoe camping, and JetBoil stoves for the ultralight or “in a hurry” camper. We are increasing our collection of canoe camping specific gear as well, including drybags, barrels, packs, and canoe rentals.This is primarily based on our goal for customer satisfaction, so that we can support our courses and guided trip offerings, which are growing more and more interest every summer.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us for shopping local, and we will continue to do our best to offer a great selection of clothing & gear, so you don’t need to shop elsewhere.  Our staff is eagerly being trained on all the new products & technologies so we can continue to offer expert advice on all your outdoor gear.  Every day / every week we are receiving new shipments from The North Face, Smartwool, and all the other brands mentioned above.

We continue to operate with strict cleaning protocols and customer limits to ensure safe distancing in all our stores, and are offering the majority of our products on our new website at www.prairiesummitshop.com for curb-side pick-up. Our staff is more than happy to help you over the phone as well, to ensure you get the right gear for your adventures.
