Post trip travel packing tips…
After every trip we like to review all the things we packed, the stuff we used, and the items we wished we had. While packing for our latest trip to Ireland, we often commented on how it’s easier for us to pack for an outdoor adventure like canoe, hike, and ski trips rather than Urban Exploring.
There are quite a few pieces that cross over from Outdoor to Urban adventures and 3 such items are a light puffy jacket, a rain jacket, and good footwear.
We love our ThermoBall Jackets! Warm, packable, water resistant, and a must on every outing. Gore-Tex rain jackets are a must: they’re more breathable than other jackets for more comfortable wear and more versatile to double as wind-wear. We had new North Face shoes for this trip and they were fantastic. It’s so awesome that a single shoe can now walk, hike, run, and dress up for a night of pub crawling.
We absolutely love our Eagle Creek Tarmac luggage. Tough as nails yet lightweight, convenient to pack, and expandable for when you buy too many souvenirs and gifts. Pair it up with Pack-IT folders and cubes to keep the family organized and less STRESSED.
Smartwool Socks are SOOOOOO good! You can wear them multiple days in comfort without stink if you don’t have access to laundry.
The new wind-wear from The North Face is amazing. Stylish and practical for adults and kids, plus they pack down so small that when your kids take them off you can fit them right in your pocket until they need it again.
In the category of “wish I would have had” would be the Flyweight Daypack from North Face. It would have been super handy for stashing jackets, water, and snacks. Oh well, next trip.
