Meet Mr Outdoorsman Colin Frey!
Colin Frey was a part time explorer and adventure until he quit his job as a transmission mechanic to pursue his passion for the outdoors. In 2007 Colin started the company, Renewed by Nature, and began taking courses and getting certifications. Colin has a wide range of outdoor & wilderness skills from basic survival (think Survivor Man & Alone but for real) to fully guided super comfortable luxury canoe trips. Colin’s unique skill set was immediately in high demand and he is activity teaching courses & guiding for Prairie Valley School Division, Greenall Outdoor School, Fresh Air Experience, Churchill River Canoe Outfitters, J & T First Aid Training, Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, to name a few. In the fall of 2013 Colin added Polar Bear Tour guide to his list of guiding skills, and works for Lazy Bear Expeditions in Churchill Manitoba. Colin is a big believer in practicing what he preaches for wilderness training and is always up for an adventure with family or friends. Colin has worked with many outdoor professionals and mentors in the outdoors, but most notably, Colin apprenticed under Mors Kochanski and is a Mors acknowledged instructor. Colin’s work takes him all over but he loves teaching courses at Birch Lake, a special camp he has created for training. Colin makes great use of the parks and areas around Regina giving workshops and teaching courses for various schools, clubs, communities, and Businesses. The Churchill River, north of LaRonge, is his favorite wilderness playground, Colin has been on many canoe trips as a guide and for his own pleasure with his family. Colin’s mission statement for Renewed by Nature is, “I’ve made it my business to be safe in the wilderness”.
