Meet Dave Lipchen from Winnipeg... Dave has been a member of the Canadian National Triathlon Team since 1998, during which time he competed in seven Triathlon and two Duathlon World Championships. To be a member of the Canadian Team, one must qualify at national races. Many hours are spent preparing for these events, including competing in local Manitoba races. Dave is consistently at the top of his age category in most local competitions. Dave is the head coach and owner of the Windburn Multi-Sport Academy. Founded in 2014, the Windburn Multi-Sport Academy provides a fun, friendly and competitive atmosphere for athletes aged 12 and up in a multi-sport environment. Training focuses on swim, bike and run, as well as combinations of these sports. The Windburn Race Team is a competitive-based triathlon team in Manitoba comprised of athletes training for Western Canada Games, Canada Games, as well as Elite and Age Group World Championship competitions. Dave’s education includes an Exercise and Sport Science Degree from the University of Manitoba, a certified Competitive Triathlon Coach from Triathlon Canada, and he recently graduated from the National Coaching Institute (NCI) at the University of Winnipeg with an advanced coaching diploma. Dave is excited to use and test The North Face athletic products for his training, and other outdoor pieces for his everyday pursuits.
